What it means
COBIT provides a governance model for enterprise IT, separating governance objectives from management objectives and mapping them to enterprise goals. COBIT 2019 is the current edition; COBIT 5 preceded it.
It is used most often where IT governance must be demonstrated to a board or an auditor, and it pairs with control frameworks rather than replacing them.
